2nd-4th July Cairns
Having travelled into Cairns on the bus yesterday and today we feel as though we are becoming locals. Throughout the city there were many American sailors roaming around, having come ashore from the USS Essex and one other naval ship. We went into the main shopping centre, Cairns Central, to pick up my new spectacles which should be much stronger and hopefully last longer than the previous frames did. We hope the new number plates will arrive on Monday so we can get back to using the car and continue on our journey west.
