1st July Cairns
Today we decided to go into Cairns by public transport as we have no number plates on the car.
Caught the bus outside the park and we were whisked down to Cairns in a new air-conditioned bus, thankfully, as the day was heating up.
Went to the Regional Art Gallery which we had to pay $5 to enter and were quite disappointed with it.
Had a great prawn lunch and then walked down to the wharf area and to the Lagoon which was busy as its school holiday time. We continued on to have a look at the Casino and Beatrice bumped into someone from her aqua class at the leagues club who was up here on a ten day holiday. Whilst they were chatting away I Invested $1 into a poker machine and came away with $3!
Returned to the park and read our books and the paper.
We have to wait for our number plates before we can head off again.
