1st October on to Adelaide

Woke up to a very cold, misty  and damp day with the temp down to 12 deg.  With very little visibility once again we decided to leave for warmer and greener pastures. We passed through the small towns of Laura, Gladstone which all looked pretty deserted and forgotten. Laura had very a very wide main street with trees all down the middle. We stopped at Clare for coffee where all the vineyards start along with the cellar doors for wine tasting. Thankfully as we headed on down to Adelaide the temp started to climb to about 18deg along with the sun trying to make a breakthrough. We set Tom Tom for our destination caravan park in the city and it guided us to the front door without a hitch. It was strange having to negotiate all the city traffic after mostly being in the outback and smaller towns.

Once we had set up we went for a walk along the Torrens river which started right beside the caravan park and took us into the city through the University of Adelaide.  All up it we must have covered about 4 km there and back so we are quite happy that we’ll be able to walk to the city without having to take the car or use the buses.

It was good to get back and have our dinner and settle down for the night after a long day of driving and an evening walk.
